The big 1-0, finally!

I ran 10 miles this morning! As this is the longest I’ve run since being back in Philly, (and considering my Half-Marathon is next Saturday), I am quite excited. The route was great – some pretty hard hills, and I got to see the sun rise (though waking up this morning and going out into cold darkness was a wee bit difficult…). And, I ran pretty fast – just over 10 miles in 1:35.30, which averages out to 9:11/mile. I would be thrilled to do that for my Half, but considering the trail it’s going to be on, I think I’ll settle with 11 minute miles…

After my run, I refueled a bit with my new favorite drink before crashing on the couch until I could stand taking a shower.

I’m traveling a bit today (details further down :)), so I wanted a big breakfast, not only to refuel, but also to keep me full for a couple of hours. I decided on a bagel sandwich.

I threw a slice of tomato and (my last!) slice of Lancaster Canadian bacon into a skillet while I toasted my French Meadow Bakery Hemp Bagel. When the bagel was toasted, I slathered pesto on both sides, topped one with some spinach and a little parmesan, and put the warm bacon and tomato on top of that. Then I cooked up an egg, added it to the sandwich, and voilà – an easy and delicious breakfast.

So that’s it until probably Sunday night. I’m doing something fun this weekend – I’m not going to spill yet, but I’ll let you know that it involves lots of beer (probably not for me, though…), lots of food, and a very silly dance
